Mid Century Modern Furniture Legs – Mid Century Modern furniture design dates from the mid-1940s to the mid-1960s. Mid-Century Modern style has reemerged as a very popular trend in interior design. We are pleased to present two classic mid century modern furniture legs, the Wegner series legs and the McCobb series legs.
The Wegner modern leg collection is named after the Danish Modern furniture designer Hans Wegner (1914-2007). Mr. Wegner frequently used the curved-tapering leg form we showcase in the Danish Modern furniture leg collection that bears his name. There are three table legs and five furniture feet in this collection.
The McCobb furniture leg collection is named after American Mid-Century Modern furniture designer Paul McCobb, born in 1917. Mr. McCobb often used the straight tapering leg form in his work. There is no curve to the taper, as there is in the Wegner design. There are three standard furniture legs in the McCobb collection – dining, end stand and side table heights. Plus, there are five furniture feet in this collection – from 4" to 12".
The Lasdun furniture foot collection is named after English British modern architect Sir Denys Lasdun. There are nine furniture feet in total, organized into three series based on visual weight, or ‘heft.” The “H” Series is the heavyweight. The “M” Series is the Middleweight. The “L” Series is for – you guessed it – the lightest group. Each series has three height choices.
Uses:
The shorter length mid-century legs are perfect for legs under case pieces. Much of the Lasdun foot group is designed for use as a sofa leg. If you need replacement sofa legs, look through the group of nine Lasdun furniture feet.
Mid-height legs are great for creating far-out cocktail tables and benches in the retro style. The taller 29" legs are the ideal height for mid-century modern dining tables.
