Wood Cleats are meant to peek out from beneath, are super strong and easy to install. Threaded Steel Inserts work like the cleats, but the hardware is invisible.
Metal Plates are less expensive, but less attractive and less strong. Dowel Screws make attaching feet for lighter duty applications a snap.
