Red oak is the most widely used hardwood in American furniture, and there's a practical reason for that beyond just availability. It's hard, it's stable, and it's open, pronounced grain gives a surface real visual texture — the kind of depth that flat-painted furniture can't touch.
The warm reddish tone of red oak reads differently from that of cherry or walnut. It's less formal than either, with a straightforward, unpretentious quality that works in dining rooms meant for use. Built with 2" square steel legs, it lands squarely in industrial-meets-everyday territory.
The Fusion Red Oak Bench is built to the same spec as the rest of the line: .75" solid red oak top, matching red oak aprons and corner blocks, steel legs with floor protectors.
