French farm furniture is both earthy and lively at the same time. The leg on this base, expertly made in our Vermont workshop, features dramatic contrast between the thick and thin parts of the turning, creating a pronounced transition. The base is the correct height for coffee tables and benches, and is the "middleweight" in the French Farm series, scaled for table tops of about 1" thickness. The beaded aprons add a touch of visual interest. When calculating the size of your base, be sure to allow for the table top's overhang.

Our EasyBases (patent pending) rely on an ingenous interlocking system for a base that anyone can put together in minutes with just the supplied Allen (hex) wrench. Bases for traditional joinery use mortise and tenon construction, require glue, clamps and some DIY skill. This kind of base cannot be disassembled after gluing. Either system will result in a strong, rigid and durable table that will last for generations.

Aprons: 4, 4" high beaded aprons with tenons, cut to length, with pocket holes for mounting the table top
