Colonial + Traditional

Designs of this period are visually very light and delicate. Excellent for smaller tables.

Federal Period (1780-1830) furniture is completely based in the classics and can be quite formal. Federal period legs were mostly turned and almost always tapered, often adorned with a carved flute detail.

Queen Anne in France and Chippendale in England pre-date the Federal style in America.

William & Mary tables, often called "tavern tables," were built with stretchers to be rugged and portable. These table legs feature rich vase and ring turnings, combined with stretcher blocks. Period furniture feet feature the flattened ball form – the original "bun" foot.
